This journal is full of fun! It is for children who will be staying home while a parent or both parents travel to China to adopt a sibling. Each page features a theme such as How do I feel? and What can I do?, What is everyone doing?, and A photo album to call my own. There is an emphasis on processing the child's feelings about staying at home while the parent goes to China. This journal also features three special activities and comes with decorator's kits (glue pens, stickers, paper ribbons, paper doodads and colored mosaics) all the materials necessary for completing these activities.

Differences between journals
The book for 4-7 year olds has fewer pages, slightly larger type, and an emphasis on fun. The book for 8 year olds and up has more pages, more sophisticated language, and an emphasis on education. Both are developmentally appropriate for their respective age groups.
The journal will help assure your child that although he or she will be staying home, he or she still is an important member of the family and part of the adoption process. The hope is that your child completes the journal while you are on your trip and has something to show off upon your return! The journal is 32 pages in length and includes seven colored pages for journaling. Each journal page has questions to answer as well as space to record memories.
Made sturdy with heavyweight card stock and clear plastic protector covers, this spiralbound journal is a kid-friendly 8-1/2" by 10".
