The Complete Lifebook Workbook
|
One of the first, if not the first guide to adoption lifebook preparation, we're pleased to have this classic effort at AdoptShoppe!
Originally written for children who have lived in or are living with foster care families, as well as adoptive families, The Complete Lifebook Workbook was designed to provide parents with a comprehensive source of information with or for a child, including ways to handle sensitive or unpleasant aspects of a child's family history and life prior to joining his/her permanent adoptive family -- an especially important feature for families adopting older children or those coming from a foster family care situation.
You'll find hundreds of text and "fill in the blanks" sections that cover nearly any adoption and/or foster care situation. It even includes drawings that children can cut and paste thus encouraging them to develop their own lifebook and story in a highly personal and meaningful way.
This modest-looking workbook is packed with important information, suggestions, questions and more to help you and your child navigate his/her story with love, compassion, and honesty.
TWO VERSIONS TO CHOOSE FROM
VERSION #1 can be used "as is" -- with 31 blank pages in addition to the basic text, it provides a good start to the lifebook preparation process without a lot of investment.
VERSION #2 is a slimmed down version of #1 without the blank pages -- you're encouraged to cut out appropriate sections for pasting into your own binder or scrapbook.
